I'm helping to set up a fair for the Humane Society of Harford County (http://www.harfordshelter.org) and I've set out flyers to vets, pet related retailers, pet sitters, groomers, etc. I want to send out flyers to non-pet centered businesses but I can't think of any that would have a lot of pet lovers frequenting.

My indoor/outdoor black lab came in yesterday with her face just covered in tiny blue ticks. I spent about 2 hours picking them off of her, and still didn't get them all. I had my yard sprayed for ticks and fleas at the beginning of summer, but these are different and smaller than the brown and black ticks I've seen before. They seem to be really clustered around her eyes. I bathe my dog weekly. How can I safley and quickly rid her of these awful parasites? (She is allergic to flea & tick collars).

I want to adopt a puppy through my local shelters, but I'm not too familiar w/ all the lingo. Can someone tell me what is meant by potty and play privileges outside? Thanks!
When they repeatedly hit, kick, strangle your dog?
And they're a toddler?
Or a gradeschooler?
What would you do in each age group?
I don't have kids I"m just wondering how parents teach naughty kids to be nice to animals.
and how they teach children that animal cruelty is wrong.
