I want to find, for free, or at a reasonable price, a database of historic fundamental stock data for the NYSE and Nasdaq from inception till date. Where can I get this information? I am willing to get raw financial statement data and calculate whatever I need from it. The key is that the data should be SQL queriable.
The best I found was global finance data which charges from 2500$ to 8000$ per year depending on the amount of data. Anything that can top that?
I would like to sell a dividend yielding stock which I have purchased prior to its listed ex-date. I would like to know whether I must hold my shares as of the stock market's opening or closing on the record date in order to qualify for the dividend payment later. Thank you.
With so much information out there, its difficult to figure out what to read. What do you do each day to keep up to date with the market's activity?
Where's what I have learned so far that I can use to make money and protect my money in the stock market:
Monitor MACD, Stochastics and one other thing (I forgot what it was) If all three indicators lines up, you either buy or sell.
Cover Calls: You can make money by sellingl someone the right to buy a stock at a certain price before a certain date. It is like owning property and taking in rent, except you own stocks.
What I really want to do is understand how I can look this information up in the future. I figured I could find this piece of data in a minute or so, but after 3 or 4 web sites, I found it not so straight forward.
Yahoo! Finance finishes its pre-market volumes at roughly 8:45. Is there any other way to see the opening volumes?
