I have been desperately trying to market my new totally free dating site, http://www.adate4life.com It's a good site with cool features, but obviously I would like more members. I have surfed the web and checked just about every option out there. There are lots, but I don't want to fall victim to someones scam. I am even spending money on ad words, just to promote a blog that I set up in order to make contact with other site owners. http://www.datingsiteowners.blogspot.com I feel like the money spent on ad words etc is wasted unless I can eventually get listed in the search engines. I need a good page rank and realize that I need links to my page for this to happen, but the other sites that I contact don't even bother responding to my requests. You'd think I'd slapped their momma or something just by asking. So are there any site owners out there who are willing to help? Or does anyone have any suggestions for me? Thanks in advance.

I have a marketing background, so don't need a general marketing course. I need to know the products, language, terms, metrics, etc… of online advertising in 2007. For example, what categories of advertising "products" exist? What kinds of fees can be charged, how are fees determined (I know based on traffic, clicks, but more specifically…?) How is Web advertising marketed/sold to advertisers, particularly in the health and medicine arena. I want a primer on the subject, but would also like to see some quantitative examples relevant to the business in 2007. A "Dummys" book would be a good start, but an up-to-date one doesn't exist. Maybe there are 1-2 day courses. I found one via a Google search, but maybe someone out there has a recommendation. I'm not too worried about cost, as long as I can get up the learning curve quickly. I have recently launched an online dating community for large men and women. I would really like to get some marketing ideas to get my site name out there. I have done a youtube video that I have sent to everyone on my yahoo and email contact list. I have asked friends and family to forward my information to people on their email contact list and so forth. I realize that will only get me so far. Right now I am looking into paying to have traffic driven to my site but I am unsure it will be the right kind of traffic. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
