I have been married to a Russian lady for the past 10 years. Our marriage is great, I'm not complaining, she is a housewife and she takes very good care of me and our family. I honestly could write pages on everything she does for me, she is very traditional. The only problem, she is very high maintenance, she always has to wear expensive clothes, expensive jewelry, drives an expensive car, and honestly believes no other woman is better then her (but when it comes to sex, that might be true). I have never seen so much pride in a person, it does not affect our marriage, she does not act this way with me, but she turns her nose up to everyone else, and sometimes it's just embarrassing. I'm known to have the "stuck up" wife. Is this something common with Russian women? or maybe just mine?
Also before anyone thinks it, no, shes not a mail order bride. I met her in Russia when I was there as a government contractor, and shes not a young girl. I'm 42 and shes 41.

What is the best website to meet Russian, and/or East European women? I recently ran into a buddy of mine and he married a beautiful and very sweet hearted Russian woman, but he met her on one of his many travels across Europe. And a good friend of mine is also Russian and her accent drives me wild. Also, I have found the Russian women I have met are not so close-minded about ideas like religion, faith, and even politics. Maybe it's because in their home countries, their government wouldn't let people practice independent thinking for many years. So when they hear of ideas like going to Church each week, or other ideas, they don't immediately get defensive with their already personnaly held opinions. Also, drop-dead gorgeous Russian women don't have the "I'm too good-looking for you" snotty attitude that some American women have. The Russian girls I have met are beautiful, but also they have super nice personalities. Has any other guy noticed this, or is it just me and the East European girls that I have met?

The groom is american and the bride is russian and she doesn't speak a word of english.

My joke Yahoo Personals almost netted me a Russian bride. Now I have an Asian woman emailing me. Now, I am wondering if I should put my heart and clever wording out there again and she if the takes the bai…er…feels the same way.

Like you can listen to girls out, treat them right, and put the best foot forward but get the "let's be friends" slap to the face. Or you can lavish so much attention and money on a girl and maybe she'll settle for you, but you wont get what you're looking for, only easy access to sex. But, I say in that case you can just get a russian mail order bride; at least you both know what you're getting into.

I recently started seeing a Russian man. We went on a few great dates until he started behaving very strangely. He pretends he doesn't care yet gets incredible upset when I make plans to go out with my friends or can't see him when he's available. Recently he insulted me by sending me a text saying, "don't cheat on me". I called him immediately and asked him what he thought our arrangement was. We never established that we were even dating and when I asked him directly what he thought was going on he said he was aware that we were not in a relationship… so why the harsh words, if we're not even together?

this might sound really ignorant but thing is, this whole "mail-order
bride" thingie isn't so common where I come from, then I read here on
yahoo answers that this guy complained that "the chinese died & the
russian is 9 yrs old" or whatever so seriously, they are illegal
immigrants right? how do they get into the country?
