I have been married to a Russian lady for the past 10 years. Our marriage is great, I'm not complaining, she is a housewife and she takes very good care of me and our family. I honestly could write pages on everything she does for me, she is very traditional. The only problem, she is very high maintenance, she always has to wear expensive clothes, expensive jewelry, drives an expensive car, and honestly believes no other woman is better then her (but when it comes to sex, that might be true). I have never seen so much pride in a person, it does not affect our marriage, she does not act this way with me, but she turns her nose up to everyone else, and sometimes it's just embarrassing. I'm known to have the "stuck up" wife. Is this something common with Russian women? or maybe just mine?
Also before anyone thinks it, no, shes not a mail order bride. I met her in Russia when I was there as a government contractor, and shes not a young girl. I'm 42 and shes 41.

What is the best website to meet Russian, and/or East European women? I recently ran into a buddy of mine and he married a beautiful and very sweet hearted Russian woman, but he met her on one of his many travels across Europe. And a good friend of mine is also Russian and her accent drives me wild. Also, I have found the Russian women I have met are not so close-minded about ideas like religion, faith, and even politics. Maybe it's because in their home countries, their government wouldn't let people practice independent thinking for many years. So when they hear of ideas like going to Church each week, or other ideas, they don't immediately get defensive with their already personnaly held opinions. Also, drop-dead gorgeous Russian women don't have the "I'm too good-looking for you" snotty attitude that some American women have. The Russian girls I have met are beautiful, but also they have super nice personalities. Has any other guy noticed this, or is it just me and the East European girls that I have met?

I have thought about getting a bride from Norway. I am so tired of American women. I guess Norwegian women and Scandinavian women are more traditional, just like Russian women. I think Norwegian women look more beautiful than American women. I have heard that they are better at cooking, more submissive, dress better, are more innocent, don't drink as much, don't smoke as much etc. Is it true? I have also heard they are not wearing pants, due to their viking culture. Do they dress like that everyday?

I really want to discover Norway. Where could I go look for a Norwegian woman? Are Norwegian parents very strict? How do they react on their daughter marrying an American man? Should I go to Oslo the capital or should I go to some more far-away place? Where do I find the traditional norwegian vikingladies?
And is Norway cheap? Do they have bank automats? And are there good standards?

I am married to a very beautiful and very wonderful Russian lady, and before you think it, no she was not a mail order bride. Many years ago, I took a international job and I worked and lived in Russia for 16 months, in a city called Vladivostok. When I was in Russia, I was shocked at these women, they were all very beautiful and very feminine, but at the same time, very hard working, very resilient, and most of all, very traditional. The difference between American women and Russian women is the same as night and day. To a Russian woman, her family comes first, she will take very good care of her husband, her children, and her home. You have to understand, it's what they believe. I can't even begin to tell you how great she takes care of me and our home.
My first wife was a American woman and after the divorce I was single for 7 years and during that time, I dated many women. They all were the same, very independent, they always made it clear to me they don't need a man. Very spoiled, most everything had to be her way and expects the man to do half the house work (if not more), very out spoken, and very stubborn. I'm not saying there is not a American woman with no traditional values, but I am saying, I have never met one.
After we arrived in the USA, my wife was really surprised at the women here. First she was surprised how some looked going out in public, sweat paints, hair up, and no make up, you will never see that in Russia. Then she heard a wife can say her husband raped her, she was shocked by this, my wife says a husband has rights to his wife's body. In Russia when the husband wants sex from his wife, he just takes it. Also when she arrived here, was the first time in her life she heard of a woman not swallowing during oral sex. She asked me "How does a American women keep a husband?"
I could write many more difference's, these women are unbelievable. We have been happily married for many years and still going srtong. The men that I hear talking bad about foreign wives, it's just because you simply don't know. The women that talked bad about foreign wives, well, I guess you have every reason to.
To Larkspur, it's been 10 years now, and she still doesn't like American women. She says American men has let their women get away from them. She grew up during Soviet times, and she still believes in those ways. Is that so difficult for you to understand?

I was doing some research and I found that Russia had about 3x the population of Ukraine.

The thing is, theirs about 5x as many Ukrainian women as Russian women listing themselves as mail order brides.

I know that Ukraine is in worse state than Russia, I'm just not sure how much worse.

The sheer volume of mail order brides comming from a country that isn't considered large by any means leads me to beleive that people are trying to get out of there in a hurry.

For long I had the idea that Russian women are beautiful, intelligent, practical and probably the best brides in the entire world (maybe some you think alike), but I really want to know if it's true! Or if you can give me a realistic description for them, what does make them different from other women, what does make them the choice of many lonely hearts?

Russian Women? Sexy and Fun? or Evil?
A friend of mine recently went with a tour group to Russia. The tour group was loveme.com. Kind of introdutionary service to meet foriegn women. He told me the women there are gorgeous love Americans, and better then anything in the states. Is this true. Is this a mail order bride service? The women he said knock your socks off. Are the just looking for a free ticket here. If I go on such a trip and bring a girl home, am I just going to get her pregant and have a expensive headache?

I think it has something to do with my up bringing and the ways russians are portrayed on tv and such, also the fact with mail order brides from russia gives there woman a bad name. What are russian women like in general. Should I be worried?
Also what is the site loveguru.ru about? I saw it one time on her computer with lots of messages from other guys.

I was talking about Russian mail order brides with a friend of mine and he said, "some of these Russian women are pretty hott." and I was like, "yeah European women are tha best!" Then I came to realize I wasn't sure if Russia was actually part of Europe LOL
